This Privacy Policy describes how FlipTalk collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FlipTalk mobile application and related backend services.This document is not legal advice.1. About FlipTalk
FlipTalk is a live translation app for iOS and Android.The app lets you use your device microphone to send speech for real-time transcription and translation.FlipTalk uses anonymous app identifiers, credit balances, and consumable in-app purchases instead of user accounts or subscriptions.2. Information We CollectInformation you provide or generate while using the app- Speech audio while you are actively using the microphone for live translation.
- Transcribed text generated from that audio.
- Text submitted for translation.
- Source and target language selections.
- Purchase and credit activity, including product IDs, transaction IDs, credits purchased, credits spent, refunds, and related status information.Information collected automatically- Anonymous app user ID created by FlipTalk.
- Anonymous device ID generated by the app and stored locally on your device.
- Authentication token used to keep your anonymous session active.
- Credit balance and credit transaction history.
- Transcription session metadata, such as source language, credits spent, start time, and end time.
- App preferences stored on your device, such as language choices, onboarding state, interface settings, and text-to-speech settings.
- Technical information that may appear in server logs, such as IP address, request metadata, timestamps, error logs, and security/rate-limit events.Information we do not intentionally collect- We do not require you to create an account with a name, email address, password, or profile.
- We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. Payments are processed by the applicable app store, purchase management providers, and their payment partners.
- We do not intentionally store conversation audio, full transcripts, or full translations in our application database after normal processing. Third-party service providers may process this data according to their own terms and privacy policies.3. How We Use Information
We use information to:- Provide live transcription and translation.
- Authenticate anonymous sessions.
- Maintain credit balances and prevent double-counting purchases or credit usage.
- Process, verify, restore, and revoke consumable in-app purchases.
- Detect abuse, fraud, duplicate transactions, and unauthorized access.
- Maintain service reliability, debug errors, and improve performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.4. Microphone, Audio, Transcription, and Translation
FlipTalk accesses your microphone only when you grant permission and actively start live translation.While recording is active, audio is streamed to our backend and to third-party transcription infrastructure to generate text.Transcribed text may then be sent to third-party translation infrastructure to generate the translated text displayed in the app.You are responsible for making sure you have the right to record, transmit, transcribe, or translate speech from yourself and others.Laws about recording conversations vary by location.5. Purchases and Credits
FlipTalk uses consumable credits for live translation time.In-app purchases are handled through the applicable app store, with a purchase management provider used to manage product offerings, purchase verification, webhooks, and purchase restoration.We may store purchase transaction IDs, product IDs, purchase event IDs, environments, credit amounts, refunds, and related webhook payloads so we can grant credits, prevent duplicate grants, handle refunds, and reconcile purchase records.We do not control the privacy practices of app stores, payment processors, or purchase management providers.6. Sharing Information
We share information only as needed to operate FlipTalk, including with:- Hosting, database, infrastructure, and logging providers.
- Third-party transcription infrastructure, for real-time transcription of audio.
- Third-party translation infrastructure, for translation of text.
- App stores, payment processors, and purchase management providers, for in-app purchases, purchase validation, purchase restoration, refunds, and store operations.
- Legal, safety, or compliance recipients when required by law or necessary to protect rights, users, or the service.We do not sell personal information.We do not currently use third-party ad tracking or targeted advertising in FlipTalk.7. Local Device Storage
FlipTalk stores certain data locally on your device, including an anonymous device ID, anonymous session token, language preferences, onboarding status, interface preferences, and text-to-speech settings.Deleting the app, clearing app storage, or clearing browser storage may remove this local information and may affect your ability to access the same anonymous session or credit balance.8. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including:- Anonymous user IDs, device IDs, session records, credit balances, and credit transaction records for as long as needed to provide the service, support purchase restoration, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal obligations.
- Purchase transaction and purchase event records for as long as needed to verify purchases, handle refunds, reconcile store events, and comply with legal obligations.
- Server logs for a limited period as needed for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and reliability.
- Audio, transcripts, and translations only as needed to provide live transcription and translation, unless a provider's separate policies allow or require different retention.9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information.No internet or mobile service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.10. International Processing
FlipTalk and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.These countries may have different data protection laws.11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent.You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.You can control certain data directly:- You can deny or revoke microphone permission in your device settings.
- You can clear visible transcript and translation text in the app.
- You can delete the app or clear app storage to remove locally stored preferences and anonymous session data.

Children's Privacy

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of FlipTalk, including the FlipTalk mobile application and related backend services.This document is not legal advice.1. Acceptance
By downloading, accessing, or using FlipTalk, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use FlipTalk.2. The Service
FlipTalk provides live speech transcription and translation.The app uses your device microphone while you actively record, sends audio for transcription, sends text for translation, and displays translated text in the app.FlipTalk is provided for convenience only. Transcriptions and translations may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.Do not rely on FlipTalk for emergencies, medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, official proceedings, safety-critical communications, or any situation where an incorrect translation could cause harm.3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your location, to use FlipTalk.If you use FlipTalk on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.4. Anonymous Sessions
FlipTalk does not require a traditional account.The app creates an anonymous user ID and stores local session information on your device.You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and app data.If you delete the app, clear app storage, change devices, or lose local session data, your access to the same anonymous session or credit balance may be affected.5. Microphone and Conversation Consent
You are responsible for obtaining all permissions and consents required to record, transmit, transcribe, or translate speech from yourself and others.Laws about recording conversations vary by location.Do not use FlipTalk to record or translate others unlawfully or without required consent.6. Credits and Purchases
FlipTalk uses consumable credits for live translation time.Unless shown differently in the app, 1 credit equals approximately 15 seconds of live transcription time.Credit packs may be offered through app stores.Purchases are processed by the applicable app store and may be managed through third-party purchase infrastructure.We do not process your full payment card details.Credits are not currency, stored value, gift cards, or property.Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and may be used only within FlipTalk.We may deduct, revoke, or adjust credits for usage, refunds, chargebacks, fraud, abuse, duplicate grants, or technical correction.All prices, taxes, billing, refunds, and payment disputes are handled under the rules of the applicable app store and payment processor.Refunds, if available, must usually be requested through the app store where you made the purchase.If a purchase is refunded, reversed, or charged back, associated credits may be removed.Purchase restoration depends on store records, purchase management records, platform rules, and the anonymous app user ID available to the app.We cannot guarantee that credits can be restored if local session data is deleted or unavailable.7. User Content and License
You retain any rights you have in speech, text, or other content you provide through FlipTalk.You grant us a limited license to receive, transmit, process, transcribe, translate, display, and otherwise use that content only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve FlipTalk and comply with law.You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide content to FlipTalk and to allow us and our service providers to process it.8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:- Use FlipTalk for unlawful surveillance, unlawful recording, harassment, abuse, fraud, or other illegal activity.
- Upload, transmit, or process content that violates the rights of others.
- Attempt to bypass credits, payment controls, rate limits, authentication, or security measures.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, interfere with, or disrupt FlipTalk except as allowed by law.
- Use FlipTalk to create a competing service or to overload, damage, or impair our systems.
- Misrepresent your identity, transactions, purchase status, or entitlement to credits.9. Third-Party Services
FlipTalk depends on third-party services, including app stores, purchase management providers, transcription providers, translation providers, hosting providers, and device operating systems.These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, actions, or data practices.10. Intellectual Property
FlipTalk, including its software, design, branding, interfaces, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.Except for the limited right to use FlipTalk under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense FlipTalk unless we expressly allow it or applicable law requires otherwise.11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information.By using FlipTalk, you agree that we may process information as described in the Privacy Policy.12. Service Changes and Availability
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue FlipTalk or any feature at any time.We may also update credit packs, pricing, supported languages, providers, or technical requirements.FlipTalk may be unavailable because of maintenance, network issues, provider outages, store issues, or other events.13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to FlipTalk if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, abused the service, attempted fraud, or used FlipTalk in a way that could harm us, other users, providers, or third parties.You may stop using FlipTalk at any time by deleting the app.14. Disclaimers
FlipTalk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.We do not guarantee that FlipTalk will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or accurate, or that transcriptions or translations will be correct.15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenPrisma and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, service interruption, or translation errors.To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to FlipTalk or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:- The amount you paid for FlipTalk credits in the 3 months before the claim.
- USD 50.Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.16. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless OpenPrisma and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from:- Your use of FlipTalk.
- Your content.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of law.
- Your violation of third-party rights.17. App Store Terms
If you downloaded FlipTalk through an app store, you also agree to the applicable store terms.The app store provider is not responsible for FlipTalk, support, maintenance, claims, or liabilities except as required by its own terms or applicable law.18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Paris, France, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide notice as required by law.Continued use of FlipTalk after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.20. Contact
